Over 130 artists and authors who live in the Clinch Mountains, a region from Knoxville, TN to Roanoke VA, show their works at the Clinch Mountain Arts & Crafts gallery. Mountain crafts, like corn husk dolls, baskets, musical instruments, wood carvings, brooms, primitive dolls, ceramics and quilts sit next to collage paintings, wood turned bowls, photography, glass jewelry, oil paintings, woven rugs, furniture, metal sculpture, and fantasy paintings.
From $1.00 to $5,000, art works for everyone, and as a non-profit gallery, proceeds help young and new artists develop their mountain-grown creative talents. Courses in metal clay and wire wrapped jewelry making, fine art photojournalism, memoir writing, plein air painting, drawing, and pottery will be offered at the gallery.
You’ll find the headquarters for the Clinch Mountin MusicFest 2010 and the Southwest Virginia Community Foundation at the Clinch Mountain Arts & Crafts gallery.
